What is Tadasana?

Katherine believes the source of many of the issues in our tissues starts in the feet and travel up. From base to summit, care is necessary to provide harmony and equilibrium in our bodies. Our bodies are mountains to be explored, and honored.

The name Tadasana represents Katherine's philosophy of the body while promoting the value of yoga in everyday life.

Tadasana (pronounced tA-dA-sA-nA) comes from the Sanskrit word "tada," meaning mountain. Tadasana is a simple standing pose in yoga where the participant stands with their feet together, shoulders relaxed, hands by the side and palms open. This specific pose forms the basis for all standing poses in yoga.

While performing Tadasana the legs are strengthened as well as overall balance. It makes a great starting pose, resting pose and improves posture.
